Cherry ‘Stella’
The Cherry ‘Stella’ is a Canadian-bred appealing variety that is both a flowering and fruiting tree. This is the most well-known dessert cherry in the United Kingdom, producing firm, dark-fleshed, good-sized fruits with a delightful flavour. From mid-July to August, these crops can be harvested. These dwarfing rootstocks are excellent for patio trees. They are also great as a focal point in a mixed border. Cherry rootstocks: Gisella 5 – Dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 2m (6′,6) Gisella 6 – Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of up to 4m (13′) Colt – Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of 5m (16′) Low Stem – trees will grow to a maximum height of 2.5m making it more managable in smaller gardens. Patio Standard ? Extreme dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 1-1.5m tall if kept pruned to these heights.
