In 2024, Ecuador exported a ‘record-breaking’ 26,466 tons of flowers from Quito’s Mariscal Sucre Airport—a 17% growth compared to 2023—underscoring the importance of reliable and agile logistics solutions like DHL’s to sustain the sector’s continued growth and satisfy increasing global demand, shares the DHL team. Looking ahead to the 2025 Valentine’s season, DHL seeks to reinforce its support for Ecuadorian floriculture with 40 exclusive flights to the U.S.
According to the Directorate of Economic and Commercial Studies, the floriculture industry is Ecuador’s seventh-largest non-oil export product, generating USD 747 million between January and September 2024—a 1% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Edith Villavicencio, General Manager of DHL Express Ecuador, highlighted the company’s role in the sector, stating: “We are deeply committed to transforming Ecuador’s floriculture industry into a global benchmark.
