Description
Aesculus parviflora
This hardy deciduous tree has palmate foliage which emerges bronze before changing to deep green and then yellow in autumn. Aesculus parviflora is part of the horse chestnut family but has a much more dwarf habit. In June and July, upright, spider-like white blooms with eye-catching stamens create cone-shaped panicles measuring up to 30cm (12??) in height. Smooth-skinned fruits will follow the flowers. Aesculus parviflora will happily grow in all soil types if well-drained and will thrive in either sun or semi-shade in a large space. Height: 3m(9?). Spread: 5m( 15?).
