Allium christophii
Also known as Star of Persia, this striking Allium boasts giant spheres, measuring up to 20cm in diameter, made up of an abundance of star-shaped, metallic looking, violet blooms. The flowers of Allium christophii will burst into colour upon sturdy, erect stems from May to July, adding wonderful architecture to sunny perennial borders and attracting plenty of bees. Plant amongst lower growing varieties which will cover the fading foliage that dies back as the blooms appear. The eye-catching seedheads will add further interest in your garden as well as making a super addition to dried flower displays. Height: 60cm (24). Spread: 20cm (8).
