Amelanchier ‘Rainbow Pillar’
Offering multiple seasons of interest, Amelanchier ?Rainbow Pillar? is a superb tree for small garden borders, large patio containers and courtyards due to its upright, columnar habit. In April, it is covered in sprays of fragrant, starry white blooms amongst the green leaves which are popular with pollinating insects. Wine-red berries will follow in late summer which are attractive to birds. The grand finale is in autumn when the foliage transforms to fiery shades of crimson, gold and orange. This vigorous tree or large shrub is easy to grow, exceptionally hardy and pollution-tolerant. A great choice for wildlife gardens and particularly well suited to acid to neutral soil where it will produce its greatest foliage colour in autumn. Height: 4m (13ft). Spread: 2.5m (8.2ft).
