Angelonia makes a stunning alternative to the usual bedding varieties and despite its angelic proportions, it is a tough performer promising masses of flowers over a long period.Commonly known as the ‘Summer Snapdragon’ or ‘Angel Flower’ this tender perennial from the Americas is grown as an annual bedding plant. It produces an abundance of flower spikes carrying exquisitely detailed, miniature ‘snapdragons’ from late-spring to autumn. Unlike the common snapdragon, Angelonia is more tolerant of heat and drought and will continue to pump out blooms through heatwaves without stopping. On warm evenings, they also offer the additional reward of a sweet, vanilla fragrance. These self-cleansing plants require no dead-heading, pushing out a constant supply of new flowering stems without any care other than routine feeding. Their erect flower spikes partner beautifully with contrasting flower forms such as petunias. Angelonia Serena Mix comprises a wide array of jewel-like shades, creating seas of colour to drift through borders, line path edges or fill patio containers. Height and spread: 30cm-40cm (12-16in).
