Apple ‘Christmas Pippin’

Apple ‘Christmas Pippin’ is like the well-known Cox apple, but it is simpler to grow and more dependable. The fruits have a slight sharpness that cuts through the honey-sweet flesh to make a perfect apple flavour. The flesh is crunchy to the bite but melts in the mouth with magnificent juiciness. They can be harvested in mid-October and stored until January. This cultivar is not self-fertile. It is grown successfully with another variety for the heaviest crops. If you only have space for one tree, make sure a neighbour has a tree nearby that can serve as a pollinator. This apple was introduced in 2011 and is a relative newcomer among apples. However, it is quickly building a reputation as an outstanding dessert apple. Pollination Group 3 – Eating Apple Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years. Estimated time to best yields: 5 years.
