The sour berries of this Aronia often referred to as the Purple Chokeberry, are appetising and are utilised to produce jam, compotes, and fruit pies. Aronia is simple to maintain and even withstands wet soil. The vibrant fall foliage of this medium-sized deciduous shrub is admired by all. In May and June, Aronia x prunifolia ‘Brilliant’ produces bunches of lovely white blooms, which are accompanied by purple-red berries in the fall. The foliage changes to blazing orange and scarlet hues as the berries ripen, creating a beautiful contrast. Height: 3m (10′). Spread: 2.5m (8′).
