Baptisia ‘Decadence Vanilla Cream’ is part of a series of exciting new hybrids that take the best qualities of Baptisia australis and enhance them with a striking array of vibrant colours, a long blooming season, and a compact growth habit ideal for smaller spaces. This cultivar forms neat, bushy clumps of blue-green foliage, topped with tall spires of yellow buds that gradually open into elegant, creamy-white flowers resembling lupines. Starting in May, the blossoms bloom from the bottom of the spike and continue through to late summer, peaking in a beautiful display. As the flowers fade, they give way to decorative black seed pods, adding interest through the autumn months. Baptisia ‘Decadence Vanilla Cream’ is a versatile, low-maintenance perennial, perfect for informal, cottage-style borders or prairie plantings. Its flowers are highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects, making it a great choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.
