Description
Blackcurrant ‘Ben Connan’
This RHS AGM variety has it all with outstanding mildew resistance and strong frost endurance. Blackcurrant ‘Ben Connan’ begins to bear fruit in early July and continues to do so for a considerable amount of time. Each plant will start producing more than 3.5kg (almost 7lb) of fruit in the second season and continue to do so for up to 10 years. This compact, heavy-cropping bush type is indeed a must-have and yields enormous, shiny black fruits with an exceptional, deep flavour. Height and spread: 120cm (47). We supply established, healthy 1-year-old bare-root pre-pruned plants which will quickly establish themselves once planted. Estimated time to cropping once planted: 16-20 months (4-8 months for premium bareroot or 3L potted plant) Estimated time to best yields: 16-20 months.
