Flowering Rush is an attractive hardy perennial native to Britain and makes an excellent addition to wildlife ponds. Butomus umbellatus produces distinctive triangular stems with red foliage that turns to green as it matures. Masses of tall stems holding umbels of elegant rose-pink blooms compliment the foliage in late summer, their gentle fragrance attracting butterflies and hoverflies. Perfect for pond margins and bog gardens. Height: 150cm (59). Spread: 45cm (18). Planting depth: Zone 2 & 3 up to 25cm (10) below water level.
