Campanula takesimana has arched stems with glossy, toothed foliage and huge pendant, bell-shaped flowers. The pink-flushed blooms are worth a closer look because the insides of each flower are covered in deep maroon freckles. This sturdy perennial has a fast growth habit and will quickly form big clusters in borders quickly. It favours a daintily shaded location, making it ideal for underplanting trees and shrubs or filling in the garden’s darker borders. Campanulas have been prevalent among gardeners for many years, but this graceful Korean Bellflower is interestingly underutilised. Height: 50cm (20). Spread: 100cm (39).
