Catananche caerulea
Because of its long-lasting blooms, this cheerful little perennial is an excellent addition to cut flower arrangements! In the summer, ragged-edged lavender-blue flowers burst from straw-like buds. The flowers are replaced by papery seed heads, which can also be used effectively in dried arrangements. Catananche caerulea, despite being a relatively short-lived perennial, adds a charming nostalgic feel to cottage garden borders and will happily seed around to produce plants as the years pass. Height: 60cm (24). Spread: 30cm (12).
