Cercis canadensis ‘Zig Zag’
As the name suggests, Cercis ?Zig Zag? produces unique, zig-zag shaped branches which create a striking silhouette! The bare branches provide superb interest throughout winter, and in spring will become cloaked in small, pea-like blooms that create a magnificent display and provide a much needed early source of nectar and pollen for bees. Handsome, heart-shaped foliage will follow the flowers and will transform to shades of orange in autumn. This slow-growing tree makes a superb choice for small to medium gardens where it will provide year-round interest. Maximum height: 6m (20ft). Maximum spread: 7.6m (25ft).
