Description
Chaenomeles x superba ‘Clementine’
As the name suggests, this Flowering Quince bears vibrant, double orange-red blooms. Flowering before the foliage emerges, it brings a welcome splash of colour and a valuable source of nectar for pollinating insects early in the year. Throughout the summer, Chaenomeles x superba ‘Clementine’ is clothed in glossy green foliage. Prominent aromatic fruits ripen from green to yellow to create an eye-catching autumn display, which can be made into jellies and preserves. With a rounded, spreading habit Chaenomeles x superba ‘Clementine’ makes a fine wall shrub or free standing specimen in borders. Height and spread: 150cm (59).
