Chaenomeles x superba. Orange-pink cup-shaped flowers appear on the naked stems of this Flowering Quince. The blooms are quickly followed by a cloak of glossy green foliage that wraps around the spiny branches. Autumn heralds the arrival of large golden fruits that are both aromatic and edible when made into jellies and preserves.
