Chilli Pepper ‘Buena Mulata’

Only available in the UK, Chilli ‘Buena Mulata’ is a very rare heirloom variety and makes a striking ornamental plant as well as being a versatile pepper for a range of culinary dishes. Producing tapering fruits measuring 8-10cm in length which start as a beautiful shade of violet before changing to deep orange and then finally maturing to dark red. The chillies can be enjoyed at all stages and are at their most mild and sweet when they are purple, where as by the time they have matured to dark red, they take on a cayenne-like heat but with a fruity kick, measuring between 30,000 to 50,000 on the Scoville Scale. An extremely productive variety which looks very attractive when full of pods in their various stages of colour. Maximum height: 60cm-90cm (24?-35). Spread: 60-70cm (24-27).
