Cornus kousa ‘Venus’
Possibly one of the best flowering dogwoods, this deciduous small tree is extremely tough, very undemanding, has good drought tolerance and an exceptional disease resistance. The large, striking flowers of Cornus kousa ‘Venus’ are creamy-white and appear for several weeks from mid to late May. Flowers may also be followed by strawberry-like fruits as the plant matures. In autumn, the large, glossy green leaves take on rich shades of yellow, orange and purple, providing even more of a spectacular display. Height: 6m (20′). Spread: 4m (13′).
