Description
Cornus sanguinea ‘Midwinter Fire’
Cornus sanguinea ‘Midwinter Fire’ is a famous variety, popular in the winter for its coral pink and orange stems. This compact, deciduous dogwood is simple to grow and adds structure and colour to winter borders. The orange and gold autumn foliage is a stunning prelude to the winter display. The fine and twiggy upright stems glow wonderfully in the pale winter sun. It forms a lovely shrub the rest of the year, producing ivory white flowers in summer, followed by clusters of blue-black berries. Grow it in full sun for the best colours. Height and spread: 2m (78).
