Cornus ‘Winter Stems’ Collection
Brighten up the dark winter months with the glowing stems of our Cornus Winter Stems Collection. These superb Dogwoods offer plenty of year round interest. In early summer, they produce ivory white blooms which are followed by clusters of berries. Autumn sees the foliage turn to vibrant shades of orange, red and gold before falling to reveal the brightly coloured stems. Dogwoods make excellent shrubs for borders and woodland edges. Plant them in a sunny spot for the best coloured stems. Height and spread: 2m (78"). Collection comprises each of: Cornus alba 'Siberian Pearls' – Starts in Spring with a generous covering of creamy white flowers which eventually turn into clusters of plump white berries, these are shown off to even better effect when the foliage turns red in the Autumn. Perfect for a Winter display! Cornus sericea 'Flaviramea' – Thickets of bright yellow-green stems shine brightly through the winter months. Cornus alba 'Kesselringii' – A dense thicket of red shoots quickly become covered in greenery in Spring, inter-dispersed with cream coloured flowers that insects find very attractive. Autumn will turn the leaves beautiful shades of red and gold and finally when revealed, the stems will turn a deep red or purple over Winter.
