Description
Delphinium elatum ‘Highlander Flamenco’
Add a touch of charm to your summer borders with Delphinium elatum Highlander Flamenco. Developed in Scotland, the Highlander series is renowned for its vigour, disease resistance, and hardiness. These sturdy plants feature self-supporting stems that grow to around 1 metre, making them more manageable and better suited for windy spots and container gardening compared to the taller Excelsior hybrids. Their strong, upright growth is paired with delicate flowers in striking bicolour blends, creating a captivating visual effect. The double blooms of Delphinium Highlander Flamenco are densely packed with frilly petals in a beautiful combination of dusky pink, with creamy centres. Regular deadheading encourages more blooms and side shoots, providing plenty of flowers for cutting and vase arrangements. The dried petals also make lovely confetti. With its romantic, cottage garden appeal, this variety brings a dreamy aesthetic to any space. Plant them at the back or middle of your border, where they will stand tall and create a spectacular display from June to July, sure to impress your neighbours. Height: 100cm (39in), Spread: 45cm (18in). Plant height and spread vary with the season, so the plant size you receive may differ from the images shown.
