Developed in Scotland, the Highlander series has been carefully chosen for its vigour, disease resistance, and hardiness. These strong, self-supporting plants grow to around 1 metre in height, making them more manageable and better suited for windy spots or container gardening compared to the taller Excelsior hybrids. With their sturdy stems, they provide a robust foundation for delicately beautiful flowers with frilly, double petals in a range of stunning colour combinations, from bi- to tricolour effects. For an extended floral display, regularly deadhead the spent blooms to encourage side shoots, ensuring you have enough flowers to enjoy indoors in vase arrangements. The dried petals also make lovely confetti. These dreamy, romantic delphiniums embody the charm of a traditional cottage garden, making them perfect for planting at the back or middle of a border, where they will stand tall and command attention over other perennials throughout June and July. The Highlander Sensation Collection includes the following varieties: Delphinium Highlander Sweet Sensation ? Violet petals with blue tints, transitioning to creamy shades at the base. Delphinium Highlander Rainbow Sensation ? A striking tricolour of soft pink, pale blue, and creamy green. Delphinium Highlander Mystery Sensation ?
