Dryopteris lepidopoda
An attractive fern that not only offers greenery, but a stunning range of sunset shades to brighten up a shady border. Dryopteris lepidopoda is a semi-evergreen hardy fern which is great for all-season weed-supressing ground cover, colour and texture. Young fronds emerge yellow, pink and orange in spring, before transforming to deep, glossy green. New, brightly coloured fronds will continue to emerge in succession throughout the season, elongating the display throughout the majority of the summer. Dryopteris lepidopoda is ideal for weaving in groups through woodland borders where it will create a beautiful colour and texture contrast with other foliage perennials. A low maintenance variety that is drought tolerant once established and will thrive in a well-drained site. Height: 75cm (30in). Spread: 60cm (24in).
