Enkianthus campanulatus
Enkianthus campanulatus is low maintenance, easy to grow and will bloom with unexpected ferocity in early summer. Masses of bell shaped flowers emerge, dangling in groups from the stems of this deciduous shrub. Leaves will fall in winter, but not before they turn fiery shades of red in autumn, continually growing in the seasons prior. Ideal choice of shrub for woodland gardens and the back of borders. Height and spread: 5m (16′).
