A striking native perennial with a prehistoric look that will add vertical, evergreen interest to pond margins. Equisetum hyemale produces rigid, upright, vibrant green stems decorated with distinctive black bands, which bear brown flower spikes from June to August. This Rough Horsetail is incredibly hardy, even coping in Arctic temperatures! A vigorous variety that is best grown in an aquatic basket to restrict its spread. Height: 120cm (48). Spread: 30cm (12). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 15cm (6) below water level.
