Hornbeam, native to the UK, is very commonly seen, boasting glossy green foliage that is veined, turning yellow in autumn months. Suitable for pollarding or coppicing, Carpinus betulus is a majestic specimen tree which has a fluted, twisted trunk that is intriguing and attractive. Leaves drop in winter. Height: 12m (39′). Spread: 8m (26′).
