Houttuynia cordata ‘Boo-boo’ (Marginal Aquatic)
A versatile hardy perennial that will tolerate dry soils or wet pond margins, in sun or shade. Houttuynia cordata ‘Boo-boo’ forms dense, spreading clumps of deep green, heart-like, wrinkled foliage with eye-catching red and yellow margins. From late spring, white flower spikes emerge above the aromatic leaves and in autumn, the foliage transforms to wonderful shades of red and orange to add a splash of colour to the garden late in the season. Ideal for shallow pond margins and bog gardens. Height: 40cm (16). Spread: 100cm (39). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 10cm (4) below water level. Culinary note: The leaves have an orange like smell and make a marvellous flavouring in salads.
