Iberis gibraltarica
A showstopping hardy perennial which copes well in poor soils and coastal areas. Iberis gibraltarica is a vigorous free-flowering variety which boasts clusters of pastel purple flowers throughout May and June. Candytuft has a low-growing habit and produces clumps of linear evergreen foliage. A fantastic perennial for creating groundcover at the front of sunny borders or growing in alpines and rockeries. Height: 15cm (6). Spread: 30cm (12). Culinary note: Both the leaves and flowers of candytuft can be eaten raw and have a taste similar to that of a sweet broccoli.
