A treat for purple lovers, Iris ‘Autumn Encore’ offers richly coloured and patterned flowers plus an extended blooming season with a second flush in autumn. A tall Bearded Iris, Iris ‘Autumn Encore’ has royal purple standards with a white base. The falls have a white ground with royal purple to maroon veining and stippling that spreads from the margins of the ruffled petals. Each fall has a distinctive purple stripe down the centre. The beard is white at the base tipped with yellow. Well branched stems carry prolific flowers in May/June plus a second flush in September.This majestic bearded iris provides a strong focal point in sunny borders and even when not in flower its blue-green, sword-shaped foliage brings a bold vertical accent to planting schemes. The sumptuous blooms are also perfect for adding drama to summer bouquets, making them a superb choice for the cut flower garden. Height: 90cm (35in). Spread: 40cm (16in).
