Lagerstroemia ‘Pink Velour’
An eye-catching shrub which is favoured for its showy panicles of striking blooms that create a spectacular display all summer long. Lagerstroemia ?Pink Velour? is fully hardy, although in the UK it will need a sunny, sheltered spot to thrive – making it an excellent choice for a south facing wall. The large, cloud-like panicles of Magenta pink flowers have an interesting, crimped appearance, making them look as though they are made from crepe paper. Adored by bees and other pollinating insects. Lagerstroemia ?Pink Velour? forms a large deciduous shrub or small tree with thick, sturdy leaves and handsome exfoliating bark. In spring, new leaves emerge burgundy and turn fiery shades of orange-gold in autumn, providing an additional season of interest. Height: 2.5m (8.2ft) Spread: 1.5 (4.9ft).
