Lavender stoechas ‘Ruffles Mulberry’
Not all Lavenders are purple! Lavender stoechas ‘Ruffles Mulberry’ is the prettiest shade of berry-red topped with a cluster of rose-pink bracts that are so distinctive of French Lavenders. This bushy little shrub is perfect for sunny, free-draining borders, but makes an equally lovely container plant. In sheltered gardens, plant it as a low hedge where you can breathe in its heady perfume, every time you brush past the aromatic foliage. Height and spread: 60cm (24). Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. There are many ways to use lavender flowers, both in sweet or savoury dishes. Make a delicious lavender sugar and add to biscuits, sorbets, jams or jellies. Add flowers to vegetable stock and create a tasty sauce for duck, chicken or lamb dishes.
