A beneficial hardy perennial that will swiftly colonise difficult areas in dry shade where most other varieties would struggle to grow. Liriope muscari ‘Variegata’ will provide bright foliage and flower colour as well as weed-suppressing, evergreen foliage as long as your soil is neutral to acid. Producing spreading clumps of arching, sword-like leaves which are variegated with green and cream stripes, effectively brightening a dull corner. From August to October, ?Variegata? boasts vertical spikes of vibrant violet flowers that contrast perfectly with the beautiful foliage. Small black berries will replace the flowers, adding further interest late in the season. A versatile plant that will even grow in full shade with rooty ground beneath hedges, trees and shrubs. A drought tolerant variety that is rabbit and deer resistant and practically disease and pest free. Ideal for path edges and makes an excellent addition to winter pots.
