Description
Lychnis flos-cuculi ‘Petite Jenny’
The powder-puff flowers of Lychnis flos cuculi ‘Petite Jenny’ are as light as air, forming soft pink clouds that hover above small lance-shaped leaves from summer to autumn. Its dainty appearance especially suits informal cottage gardens and wildlife areas. A dwarf form of our native Ragged Robin, the flowers create a buzz with bees and butterflies. Each double flower is composed of very fine, dense layers of petals with the tip of each petal deeply divided, creating its ‘ragged’ appearance. Plants enjoy reliably moist soil and thrive in damp meadows and bog gardens where they provide food and landing pads for dragonflies. Plant them in a wildlife-friendly garden or well-watered container and enjoy watching who comes to visit the nectar-rich flowers! Height: 35cm (14in). Spread: 45cm (18in).
