Magnolia ‘Susan’ has a tidy, upright habit that stays comparatively sleek as it matures. This eye-catching deciduous Magnolia is ideal for acid borders in small gardens or as a large container plant. In the middle of spring, deep purple-red buds open to expose goblet-shaped flowers with softly distorted petals. The scented blooms are up to 15cm (6) across and have purple petals that are darker on the outside and paler on the inside. Height: 4m (12′). Spread: 3m (10′).
