Description
Malus ‘Wintergold’
Pink buds will emerge on the branches of Malus toringo ?Wintergold? in mid-spring, bursting into an abundance of clusters of scented white blooms in April. Pendulant-like clusters of golden fruits will follow which persevere well into winter. Forming a broad, round deciduous tree that provides another season of interest in autumn when the leaves transform from deep green to yellow before they drop. Crab apples are a great choice for adding multiple seasons of interest to small gardens and will grow well in all soil types, attracting plenty of birds and pollinating insects. A superb pollination partner for fruiting apple trees. ?Wintergold? is a self-fertile variety but for better fruit production grow with another crab apple cultivar. The fruits make a delicious crab apple jelly. Height and spread: 6m (19.6ft).
