Mangave ‘Mission to Mars’
This distinctive variety produces pointed, arching leaves that are covered in burgundy blotches- so much so that the entire leaf appears red! Mangaves are an eye-catching architectural plant that are hybrids of Manfreda and Agave- bringing together the best qualities of each variety. These plump evergreen plants produce dense rosettes of pointed leaves which will be sure to add a tropical touch to any patio container, sunny border or gravel garden. Mangave ‘Mission to Mars’ is great for difficult sandy soils and will thrive in dry conditions making them ideal for any drought-prone spot. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 55cm (22in). Mangaves are hardier than most agaves and can be grown outside all year round in areas with very mild winters such as coastal and city gardens, but like most tender perennials, will otherwise need to be brought into a frost-free greenhouse or conservatory over winter.
