Description
Matteuccia orientalis
Matteuccia orientalis is an award-winning, deciduous, hardy fern. In spring, the cosiers unfurl to reveal fresh green, elegant fronds that stand upright like a shuttlecock. They are surrounded by wider, pendulous fronds held on long stems that look like a spray of ostrich feathers, giving this fern its common name ?Oriental Ostrich Fern?. Matteuccia orientalis makes a great choice for smaller gardens and a wonderful foliage plant for moist woodland borders with dappled shade. Height: 60 – 90 cm (2 – 3 ft).
