Medlar ‘Nottingham’
The best-tasting Medlar, producing a large crop of medium-sized fruits with an intriguing caramel flavor. Medlar trees have a flat-topped weeping habit and enormous white spring blooms, as well as lovely leathery leaves that turn golden orange in the autumn. The apple-shaped, russet-colored fruits go well with wine, port, and cheese, but they’re more usually used to produce preserves or the Victorian delicacy Medlar cheese.
