Miscanthus ‘Purpurascens’
A striking ornamental grass which requires very little maintenance and is ideal for prolonging interest in your garden throughout autumn. During spring and summer Miscanthus ?Purpurascens? will grow rapidly to create an eye-catching clump of towering, upright grassy foliage which provides a great screen. From August to October, feathery plumes of light pink blooms explode from the top of each stem to create a colourful display before it develops coppery hues through autumn and into winter. A sturdy and resilient grass which will cope well in coastal conditions and exposed areas as well as growing happily in most positions such as a gravel garden or at the back of a sunny border. The flowers also look superb in an indoor vase display. Height: 1.5m (5?). Spread: 1m (3?).
