This deciduous grass is excellent for adding interest to your garden all year round. Miscanthus sinensis ‘Variegatus’ provides graceful form and texture, variegated foliage, summer blooms and wonderful autumn colour that will persist deep into winter. Towering, rigid stems will rise from a dense mound, creating an eye-catching cascade of slender leaf blades, variegated green and white. The foliage will rustle in the breeze, catching the sunlight and providing movement in the garden. In early autumn, pink-red flowers open into tall, silver plumes that add beautiful texture and interest into winter and the leaves take on golden tones that also continue into winter. This tall, striking grass is great for softening hard edges of landscaping, adding structure and colour to borders in winter as well as making an incredible stand-alone specimen. Height and spread 1.5-2m (5-6.5ft).
