Myriophyllum spicatum (Oxygenating Aquatic)
British native, Spiked Milfoil, is a superb oxygenating aquatic that thrives when submerged in deep water ? once established it can grow as deeply as 3m (10?)! The long stems are cloaked in whorls of feathery, reddish to olive green foliage, and bear tiny red flowers at the water?s surface in early summer. An excellent choice for still or slow moving water in lakes and large ponds. Height and spread: 100cm (39). Planting depth: Zones 3 & 4 to 1m (39) below water level. Once established, Spiked Milfoil can spread to colonise deep water of up to 3m (118).
