In summer, it sends up stems bearing golden-yellow, cup like flowers that have a alcohol-like fragrance – giving it its common name of Brandy Bottle. Nuphar lutea is a versatile hardy perennial that copes well in both heavy shade and running water. Perfect for lakes and large ponds, where its wide spreading habit can reach its full potential.
