Nyssa sylvatica is a slow-growing variety of the Black Gum Tree, producing dramatic, swooping branches that forma conical shape with maturity. Incredible displays of red and orange foliage are the trademark, right round Autumn time before falling to reveal bare, but intriguing branches. Native to America, Nyssa sylvatica is stunning as a specimen tree in woodland gardens, where it can often take 20 years to reach its full potential. Height: 12m (39′). Spread: 8m (26′).
