Description
Oenothera fruticosa ‘Youngii’
?Youngii? is a popular Oenothera that is much loved for its incredible blooms, uniquely opening during the day unlike other traditional varieties! From June until September, you will witness an array of saucer-shaped blooms that are lemon yellow in colour and measure one inch in width, boasting mounds of nectar at the centre. Each flower stands proudly on lengthy green stems and sits amongst an evergreen rosette of slender leaflets that later transform to a reddish gold in the autumn. Perfect for randomly placing in borders and flowerbeds to create a natural, meadow like appearance, this hardy perennial is effortless to care for and will be more than happy positioned in full sun. It would sit well in a cottage, scented or wildlife garden and will grow in height to 60cm, along with a spread of 40cm.
