Peanut splits are absolutely packed with fat, fibre and protein, and even better yet, pre-split so you don?t need to break up for birds to eat easier and quicker. It also makes them easier to digest for smaller birds, as long as they?re contained within a wire mesh feeder. The mix, that contains whole and split aflatoxin tested nuts, is especially beneficial for birds like greenfinches, sparrows and tits, and suitable for year round feeding giving a boost in cold winter months when natural food is not as available. It is crucial peanut splits are offed in a feed as whole nuts can be a serious risk to small birds health.
