RHS AGM winning variety, commonly known as the Canary Date Palm, Phoenix canariensis is stunning bringing architectural intrigue to patios and conservatories. Stiff, upright foliage arches with class all year-round as the leaves are evergreen. Withstands temperatures down to -6c, despite its exotic look, it is surprisingly hardy but does enjoy a bit of shelter in the garden. Ideal for patios and conservatories, Phoenix canariensis is striking and impressive grown as a specimen plant in patio pots. Height: 1.5m (5′) when restricted in containers. If grown naturally in glasshouse borders this palm can reach 5m (16′) height and 3m (10′) spread.
