Description
Physocarpus opulifolius ‘All Black’
A striking hardy shrub which will provide multiple seasons of interest. Physocarpus opulifolius ‘All Black’ produces arching stems of deep red, lobed leaves which darken in colour to black-purple as it ages. Clusters of pink-white blooms will appear in May and June which contrast beautifully with the dark foliage. Following the flowers, red berries emerge that ripen to black and are adored by birds. The grande finale is in autumn when the leaves transform to fiery orange before they drop. A compact shrub ideal for small gardens and large containers where it forms a rounded, bushy plant. Physocarpus ?All Black? is a fuss-free yet extremely rewarding shrub that will attract a wealth of pollinators. Perfect for creating depth and interest in the garden and contrasts wonderfully with yellow or silver foliage plants. Height and spread: 1.5m (5ft).
