Description
Phyteuma scheuchzeri
This horned rampion is more likely to be seen in mountain meadows in the Alps than in gardens in Britain! Phyteuma scheuchzeri is a magnificent, unique-looking alpine with vertical stems bearing striking, horned flowerheads in vibrant purple-blue, above a basal clump of slender semi-evergreen leaves. Ideal for the front of borders and wildlife areas as well as rockeries and patio pots where it will attract plenty of bees. Height: 35cm (14in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
