Poppy ‘Legion of Honour’ is the classic poppy- a symbol of Remembrance Day. This heirloom variety produces crimson red blooms measuring 3 inches across, with glossy, silk-like petals, held on slender, swaying stems. ‘Legion of Honour’ looks extremely effective planted in large drifts where it will become a blanket of red throughout late spring and early summer. Great for wildlife gardens and mini-meadows or scattered through borders where the flowers will attract a wealth of pollinators. Once the flowers have faded, the ornamental seed heads will continue interest and makes a wonderful dried flower. The seed heads will self-sow to allow the poppies to return every year, creating bold splashes of colour early in the season. Height: 60cm (24in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
