Description

Prunella vulgaris

Long, compact clusters of violet-blue blooms appear upon vertical stems throughout the summer, above semi-evergreen foliage. Prunella vulgaris is from the mint family and has long been used as a medicinal plant for treating a sore throat and helping to heal wounds. Ideal for wildflower lawns where you don’t necessarily have to keep your grass long, as you can cut the grass and the flower heads that get cut off will be spurred on to produce more. Adored by bees and also perfect for providing fuss-free groundcover and creeping along the edge of borders. Height: 5-20cm (2-8?). Spread: 10-50cm (4-20?).
